Your bedroom should be your retreat and a true expression of your personality. When you walk into your bedroom, you should immediately feel relaxed and welcomed and as if you’re truly “home.” To create a glamorous and luxurious bedroom for yourself, you don’t need a lot of money, but you also don’t want to neglect any corner of the room.

The bed should be the centerpiece of the room. Note your current headboard and linens. A headboard anchors the bed in the room and also adds style. If you don’t have one or have an older one, consider covering it with a luxurious fabric. Glue batting over the front of the headboard then stretch your fabric over this and use a staple gun to affix it to the back. The fabric will add luxury and softness.

If you cannot afford a brand new linen set, consider at least a new cover for the bed. A luxurious duvet cover can then be dressed up even more with toss pillows and a soft afghan at the foot of the bed.

Note your furniture in the room. Wood furniture is often more glamorous when it’s antique white or a glossy black, so take a weekend to repaint your pieces. Swap out the handles of your dresser and nightstand with something larger and more detailed; it’s a small detail but it makes a huge difference.

Once you have all the major parts of your room fresh and glamorous, it’s time to add even more style with accents and decorative pieces. Oversized photo frames are a perfect accent for your dresser as is a large vase with silk flowers. Invest in some small perfume bottles you can have at your dressing area as these also add glamour and style. You may also find inexpensive artwork online that gives the room even more visual interest and which completes your glamorous new look.
